The Senior Procurement Consultant position is responsible for developing category sourcing and negotiation strategies for acquiring complex goods and services, reducing costs, and achieving organizational objectives. Additional responsibilities include advising clients on critical supply decisions, combining analytical thinking with hands-on implementation in solving complex sourcing challenges. Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline. MBA a plus
- A minimum of 20+ years of Procurement experience with a record of increased responsibility and/or work complexity within a best practice environment, category spend analysis, supplier rationalization programs, bid management, and expertise with applicable legal terms, strategic sourcing best practices and trends
- Proven success in Strategic Procurement and/or Operations experience with a record of increased responsibility and/or work complexity within a best practice procurement environment; category spend analysis, supplier rationalization programs, and bid management. Manufacturing or Lab procurement experience a huge plus
- Substantial expertise across information technology and other spend categories
- Extensive experience managing supply contracts, including complex long-term contracts, short-term transactional agreements and consulting engagements
- Demonstrated senior level expertise to adapt to changing business requirements and develop/execute tactical & strategic plans to meet business needs
- Excellent organization, prioritization, project management, and problem solving skills
- Strong research, analytical, writing and communication skills
- The ability to work independently and perform detailed work in a high-paced, dynamic environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and ensure tasks are completed and deadlines are met as required, at a high level of expertise
- Ability to work effectively with all levels, demonstrate initiative, mature judgment, superior customer service orientation, and the ability to anticipate the needs of the organization
- High proficiency or mastery of Excel and other Microsoft applications
